Breakout

Terms

These are the rules for using Breakout, run by Hayden Baldassarre. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian agrees to them for you, and is responsible for your account until you come of age.

Who can use Breakout

Hockey players 13 and older, and their parents or guardians. Keep your password to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at baldassarre.hayden@gmail.com if you think someone else has got in.

What Breakout is, and isn’t

Breakout estimates which leagues and teams fit you, drafts emails to coaches, and measures your video. Its projections come from public league information, the numbers you give it, and our own judgement. They’re estimates, not promises: no team, school or coach is bound by them, and no placement, roster spot, scholarship or commitment is guaranteed.

Breakout isn’t an agent, an advisor or a lawyer, and it doesn’t act for you. Eligibility notes (NCAA, U Sports, the CHL and others) are reminders of rules that change. Check anything that affects your eligibility with the governing body before you act on it.

Free and Pro

  • Free is free. Pro is billed every month, at the price shown when you upgrade, plus any tax, until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time from Profile → Manage billing. Pro carries on to the end of the month you’ve paid for, then your account returns to Free. We don’t refund part-months, except where the law says we must.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while; if it still fails, your account returns to Free.
  • We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change reaches you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • For a player under the age of majority, the parent or guardian who agreed to these terms is the one who pays.

Your content

Your profile, emails and video stay yours. You let us store, copy and process them only to run Breakout for you, and that permission ends when you delete them or your account.

Only upload video you have the right to share, and remember that game video shows other players too. Don’t use Breakout to harass anyone, to send coaches anything false, to break the law, or to get at anyone else’s account or data.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile; that ends any Pro subscription at once, with no further charges. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law stops us. If we ever shut Breakout down, we’ll give you at least 30 days to download your data and refund any prepaid time.

Our responsibility

We work to keep Breakout running and accurate, but we provide it as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or wrong. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, such as a missed opportunity or a decision made on a projection, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights that consumer protection law gives you and that can’t be given up by agreement.

Changes and the law that applies

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll ask you to agree again before you carry on. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and of Canada, except where the law where you live says its own rules apply.

In effect from October 21, 2026. Questions go to baldassarre.hayden@gmail.com.
